Training · Business strategy · For strategy, corporate development and leadership teams

Train your team to find, price and test a growth move.

A strategy team is judged on whether its recommendations hold up in the market. This track teaches the four growth moves and the evidence each needs, how to price an option in one comparable unit, how to write the case against your own recommendation, and how to test it with buyers before it is funded. The examples are drawn from published analyses your team can check.

A written reply within two working days. No mailing list, no price list, nothing gated.

Teams this is built for

  • Strategy and corporate development teams asked for a growth plan with the evidence attached
  • Leadership teams who want one shared way of deciding, with the counter-case written down
  • Business unit heads weighing a new market, a new product or a partnership
  • Analysts who build the board paper and want it to hold up in the room

What the track covers

  1. 01

    The four growth moves

Penetration, market development, product development and diversification: what each needs to be true, and the failure rate of each.

  2. 02

    Evidence and its classes

Filed, calculated, reported, judgement. Reading the public record, and marking what kind of sentence you are writing.

  3. 03

    Pricing an option

One comparable unit, the arithmetic shown, and a walk-away number written down before the negotiation.

  4. 04

    The counter-case

The strongest argument against your own recommendation, and what would have to be true to change it.

  5. 05

    Market testing

A test that kills a bad idea cheaply, and the indicators that tell you which way a decision is going.

Three formats

Half-day briefing

The four moves and the evidence classes, applied to the decision your team is facing now.

Scoped per team

Two-day workshop

Your growth question worked through: the move, the price, the counter-case and the test, with the models kept.

Scoped per team

Six-week programme

A weekly session and office hours, ending with a board paper your team presents to its own leadership.

Scoped per team

Tell us about the team

Say who the team is, the decision in front of them, and what they need to be able to do afterwards. You will have a written reply within two working days with a proposed format, what it would take and what it would cost.

  1. 01

    Tell us about the team

Who they are, what they face, what they need to be able to do.

  2. 02

A written reply within two working days

A proposed format, what it would take and what it would cost. If a free resource on this site would serve you better, the reply will say so.

  3. 03

A scoping call, if it fits

Forty-five minutes to shape the sessions around your own case.

The team's size and the decision are the two most useful facts.

Questions people ask first

Is this a framework course?

The frameworks take an hour. The rest of the time is spent on evidence, arithmetic and the counter-case, which is where recommendations fail.

Can it be delivered remotely?

Yes. The briefing and the workshop run remotely or on site; the programme runs remotely with one on-site day where that is practical.

How many people can take part?

Six to sixteen works best for the workshop and the programme.

What does it cost?

It is scoped per team and written into the first reply, so you see it before you commit to anything.
