We need a spectrum position before the auction.
You have weeks, a board that wants a number, and comparables everyone quotes wrongly. The question is not what spectrum costs; it is what this spectrum is worth to you, and what you can defend paying.
What we would look at
- What comparable licences cleared at, per market rather than a national average
- How much depth you need for the service you are selling, and where the next MHz stops adding capacity
- What the band does not buy you: indoor penetration, device ecosystem, equipment timing
- Who else is likely in the room, what their balance sheet allows, and what they have paid before
- The walk-away price, and what has to be true for it to move
